Founded as Babysitternet
Four fathers from Oldenburg and Berlin were looking for reliable babysitters for their own children. So they simply founded “Babysitternet”. Something new on the still-young internet: one of the first platforms to bring parents and carers together online.

Pioneer of the industry
babysitternet.de grew into one of the first paid childcare matchmaking platforms in Germany: with profiles, search by postcode and a growing community of families and babysitters.

2007
Babysitternet becomes HalloBabysitter
The relaunch as hallobabysitter.de brought everything under one roof: with more than 35,000 babysitters and childminders, profiles with photos and certificates, and a partnership with the German Red Cross.

Growth & verified quality
More than 50,000 profiles, verified carers and an award-winning service. HalloBabysitter established itself as a reliable point of contact for childcare across Germany.

2017
Relaunch for the mobile age
After 17 years, HalloBabysitter.de got a completely new system architecture. Because around two thirds of all visits now came from smartphones and tablets, the platform became fully mobile-ready, with a redesign for every device.

A generational handover
After more than 27 years, the founders are passing on the baton: they are selling HalloBabysitter to wuselfabrik GmbH, led by Robert Söldner. The idea from 1999 remains: bringing families and reliable childcare together, carried forward by a new generation.
